Photosharing now really working for Chester Zoo

Our photo-sharing idea on the Chester Zoo website is paying real dividends in the social media marketing stakes. I am writing this blog on the flickr website and as soon as I press “send” it will be appear on KMP’s Daily Digital and all the other sites we have syndicated to our blog.

Currently visitors to the zoo’s website, (http://www.chesterzoo.org) are invited to upload their animal photos onto the website. Once approved by the content editor they will join a group of photos stored on the photo sharing website, Flickr.

If you were to search for the term “Chester Zoo” on flickr it will bring up a list of over 20,000 items. The vast majority of these photos have conversations of between 20 – 200 posts associated with them.
We now need to discover ways in which we can reach out to these “fans” of Chester Zoo to develop the brand and the traffic that passes through the venue.
