KMP Digitata – A Manifesto

Well, we’ve done it. We’ve codified ourselves down. And this is us, a curious bunch that pride ourselves on being clever digitally. This is what we are about and if you are like minded then come and work with us or for us.

HUMAN FIRST, DIGITAL SECOND

Always start with the people. Strive to develop a deep understanding of how people interact with an organisations and it's products or services so that we can build digital systems that are valuable. focus on developing and deepening this understanding.


MAKE THE COMPLEX SIMPLE

Work  to create digital solutions for the most complex problems with one underlying principle - that the technology should make the complex simple.


ALWAYS MAKE SENSE

Never talk about 'getting our ducks in a row' or finding 'synergistic strategies for monetisation.' Never hide behind jargon because a shared understanding and clarity of communication is a fundamental part of our collaborative process. Make sure you turn the jarg-off and be proud of this.


WE ARE SMARTER TOGETHER

Things get interesting when we work together. Always work from a shared understanding, we used to call it collaboration, but it got a bit buzzwordy (see above). This is part of the fabric of our business, respect your colleagues and our clients because they know things you don't.


STAY NIMBLE

To stay ahead we have to move quickly. Quick shouldn't be scary and shouldn't mean that we compromise on quality.  Help each other and our clients to move quickly and effectively. Never panic.


DON'T WASTE VALUABLE THINGS

We are a lean organisation and that means we value things like peoples time, budget, and resources.  Be vehement in this principle, as it keeps us nimble and focused on what is important. If you are looking for lengthy spec documents, full upfront design and are left scratching your head at this point then we aren't the agency for you.


FOCUS ON THE WHY

When we focus on a shared outcome then we can create something truly wonderful. Always ask a lot of questions, the most important one being "why are we doing this?" Sharing this understanding across our team makes us better at what we do.


CREATIVITY IS NOT JUST DESIGN

One of our clients describes this as "clever digital." There is no challenge that we haven't found a solution to by applying our creative thinking to it. We don't describe creativity at KMP Digitata in terms of design, creativity is something we all do and the way that we approach all of our work.


QUALITY COUNTS

We may be nimble but that doesn’t mean we compromise on quality. We don't rush things, we move fast while keeping a commitment to high quality work.
