Ever wondered what it would be like to fast forward time? Well now you can with this cool new app from instagram called #Hyperlapse.

In traditional Instagram fashion, it’s a breeze to use: all of the heavy lifting is done behind the scenes, so all you have to do is record what’s happening in front of you and choose how fast (between 1x and 12x) you want the resulting creation to play back.

Instagram’s Hyperlapse app is currently only available for the iPhone and iPad, but the company said it hopes to bring it to Android in the near future.

The Hyperlapse experience works best on 16:9 framing such as what can be supported on Facebook.

A lot of users are uploading to Facebook instead of Instagram.
