Neville Johnson began creating innovative fitted furniture for the home more than 25 years ago but they had a website that didn’t cater to multiple devices, had no content management and was absent of the digital finesse they wanted. They approached us to help them move their digital identity forward while increasing lead generation across the site.
Our brief was to develop a site navigation journey that had to allow the product range to shine, whilst still guiding the user through the searching and buying process. Each furniture design is a high quality one-off so the site needed to showcase all of the beautiful designs that Neville Johnson can offer to their customers in a clean and concise way.
Our main objectives for Neville Johnson included; Increasing conversions, better user experience, embrace multi-devices and to improve overall content management.
Neville Johnson’s responsive website includes a number of bespoke functions such as complex interlinked responsive carousels to display all services in a clever and compact way on their homepage, making good use of the space available whilst supporting the requirement to drive enquiries to all services within their business. The luxury product range and unique offering of Neville Johnson had to permeate the entire site, from carousel transitions to high res imagery and this guided every step of the build process.
We performed full UX analysis on all designs and because SEO was an integral part of the project, all the latest methods and techniques were applied in order to create the most optimised presence possible.
We’ve delivered a load-balanced, comprehensive CMS solution utilising the extremely capable Umbraco platform and developed a new online identity for the Neville Johnson brand. The responsive website reflects our user centred design methodology because it puts users at the heart of the design process. This was woven into all of our key processes, from research and planning, to development and SEO.
The beautiful furniture designs are the real focal point, and now the site allows browsing in a smooth and unobtrusive way. Users are gently guided through the unique product offering of Neville Johnson and encouraged to request a brochure so they can continue their journey offline, having passed through several digital touch points along the way.
For the first time in the company’s history, Neville Johnson have a distinctive new national TV commercial which highlights the longevity and quality of the furniture, using the line, ‘bespoke furniture, handcrafted for life’.
