Umbraco is an Open source, .NET, content management system with a global reputation and developer community. We have been developing websites in Umbraco for over 6 years, and love its simplicity and power. We’ve found it to be a breeze for content editors as well as offering some really powerful features and its extendable nature makes it a perfect fit for many of our clients.

We’ve just completed our first project in the new version 7 and found it to be faster and slicker than ever before! We’ve also really pushed the boundaries of what’s possible, introducing personalisation, geo-location and third party integrations to build on the Umbraco platform and create something truly unique.

We love the user-friendly interface and find that our clients are quick to grasp the prod uct and start working with their own content, templates and components.

We’re also equally skilled at brand strategy as we are at technology projects and user-friendly website design and builds. We can develop a multi-channel customer experience, including CRM and social media channels, just as well as we can create digital marketing campaigns.

Aberdeen International Airport

We are thrilled to have launched one of the most advanced airport websites on the planet. We’ve worked really closely with the airport to ensure that we’ve used insight and innovation to really push the boundaries of what the site can do in a way that will be truly effective.

We set out to deliver a delightful user experience for Aberdeen Airport’s passengers providing useful and innovative functionality to enhance the overall airport experience.

We have combined a fresh new design with insightful UX and personalisation technology to deliver some outstanding early results:

  • Page views are up by 11%
  • Time spent on site has increased by 56%
  • Bounce rate has decreased by 26%

E-Commerce Manager at Aberdeen International Airport, Jason Stewart said: The new site really does meet the requirements set out in the brief and we feel this marks a real step-change in airport website technology.  We are particularly pleased with the personalisation of content and ability to seamlessly enjoy this across a multitude of devices.

Carrier approached KMP with the demand for a new website which represented their brand and portrayed a feeling of luxury. In response, we were soon to deliver a striking, visually inspiring site which won a CSS Award within days of launch and a Best Travel Website Award the year after! Umbraco was the perfect tool enabling us to really push the boundaries of design whilst still retaining speed and functionality. Designing a ‘My Carrier’ section where users could build their dream holiday also added to the stylish and luxurious aspect that KMP has achieved.

Head of Marketing, Maxine Roberts said: KMP demonstrated from the start, it has a huge understanding of the industry and the luxury audience. The team exceeded all our expectations in terms of their understanding of the target audience and the digital strategy that we require and we are extremely impressed with the website they delivered.

We’ve worked with AirPortr to develop and deliver a beautifully designed website that offers a simple and stress free way to book and use AirPortr’s luggage transfer service, a seamless journey delivering customer’s luggage between London City Airport and the customer’s London hotel, home or office within hours.

The website is built in HTML5 and CSS3 using an Umbraco content management system with a completely bespoke e-commerce booking engine focused on delivering the best possible user experience. The site is fully responsive and includes subtle but effective transitions as the user scrolls to give the effect of the service offering. AirPortr required both a website with an underlying content management system that explains the facility they are providing and a full e-commerce engine that can work on any device to allow customers to book luggage transfer between any airport and their hotel, home or business.

airportr-Pro-mockupWe were initially engaged to build a proof of concept which was subject to user testing.  Once user testing was completed this was converted into a full website and e-commerce engine enabling customers and partners to book the service.  In addition KMP also provide all the required EPOS software to allow AirPortr staff to book customers’ luggage in when they arrived at the airport. Overall, we have delivered a truly beautiful site that perfectly communicates and delivers the AirPortr personal service. What’s more after a successful launch at London City Airport and delivery of over 1000 bags AirPortr have also just signed a deal with British Airways to provide carousel collection and remote check in to their passenger.  AirPortr are also now looking forward to rolling out to other major UK airports within the next few months.

CEO of Airportr, Randel Darby said: I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the work you have done on the Airportr project to-date. The website and prototype both look fantastic. All comments and feedback we have had so far has been very complimentary. In addition to this, working with you guys on this first stage has been a pleasure, right through from project planning, design, build and delivery.

Neville Johnson

Neville Johnson’s site includes a number of bespoke functions – a carousel to display all services in a clever and compact way on their homepage, making good use of the space available whilst supporting the requirement to drive enquiries to all services within their business.

We’ve delivered a load-balanced, comprehensive CMS solution utilising the extremely capable Umbraco platform and developed a new online identity for the Neville Johnson brand. The responsive website reflects our user-centred design methodology because it puts users at the heart of the design process. This was woven into all of our key processes, from research and planning, to design and development.

Marketing Director of Neville Johnson, Lisa Lalor said: KMP Digitata have worked seamlessly with our internal Marketing and Creative team to create a fantastic end product. They thoroughly understood the brief and delivered excellently in what was a very tight deadline.

Tom Howley

Our brief for Tom Howley (part of the Neville Johnson Group) was to build a highly-responsive beautiful website with the aim to engage users and entice them to visit a local showroom or to request a brochure through the online enquiry form. The use of white space gives the page a clean look and creates an excellent showcase for the different products, gently guiding the user through the site with clear signposting.

By utilising the power and simplicity of the latest version of Umbraco, we feel Tom Howley is now setup for success and this will be seen in improved conversion of site visitors into customers.

Milligan Retail

Milligan required a brand new website with a hard visual design where imagery that represented their key values was a main feature. In addition to the design a content management system (Umbraco) was installed to allow Milligan to effortlessly and effectively update their site. Milligan believed its old site “lacked certain features” and briefed us to create a replacement that would create “an immediate positive impact” and appeal to a wide range of audiences. The new-look site has been built on the Umbraco CMS platform making it fully content manageable.

That’s a wrap!

Out of the box, Umbraco is a fantastic CMS.  It’s easy to use, feature rich and fast.  That being said, there are a few Umbraco packages (add-ons, plugins, etc.) that really bring it all together and ensure it fits your project requirements.

As a team we always create competitive websites according to customer requirements and documentation, usually with custom Umbraco features. As developers we love it because it allows us to use all the tools at our disposal to solve problems. Our clients love it because they get a site built to their business needs that they can edit without our help.

So if you’re looking for help with an existing Umbraco site or you’re looking for a new partner to help you with a new project get in touch with us, we’d love to hear from you.
